Always remember:

  • Keep your big toe on the wire
  • Keep your head up
  • Keep your arms out
  • Keep your self inside the magic box
  • Do not walk on a wire higher than knee high until you become proficient
  •

The magic box is a box you imagine your torso in while on the tight wire.  Go outside of this box, and you will fall off the wire.  Stay within this box, and you have a chance of staying on the wire.

The wire.  The best wire to use is 21mm steel cable.  Smaller than 21mm is extremely hard to balance on.  Larger than 21mm is very hard to come by.

Balance Poles.  Balance poles are used to help you maintain your balance with both feet on the wire.  They are 8 foot poles with 3-5lbs of weight on each end.
